We were there pretty late, but things started to look up when we found some Redvines

in a classroom. Then we bit into one.

Sunday, I woke up early. Knowing that it had snowed all night got me excited for a perfect powder day at Canyons! One of the first powder days this season...
I was up too early to start getting ready so I hopped on facebook and started browsing through people's lives, when I got a phone call from an old roommate, Bri.

towards the end of our conversation, I got a call from a lady, whom I manage a house for (she rents out her house regularly). My heart jumped . I couldn't think why she would be calling me so early...

I ignored the phone call (knowing she would leave a message) and immediately logged in to my email to check that I had all of her arrival dates correct (because at the time - her guests had checked out a few days earlier but the house was still sitting dirty). All the dates were correct and i wasn't expecting anyone until the first week of February.

I got off the phone with Bri, and checked my voicemail. The lady, was somewhat frantic because someone had checked in to the house the night before and it was dirty. She didn't get their messages until morning because she turns her phone off at night.

I called everyone I could think of to help me at this house, but no one was available. (this house usually takes me about 15 hours, it's huge.)
I called my friend Staci, but she was headed to church.
Super stressed at this point and bummed I wasn't going to be able to snowboard on a perfect day, I started gathering some supplies.
I realized then, that I had no clean rags. none. There was definitely no time to run a load of wash so I just went to Home Depot and bought some more.

On the way I called Seth to see if he had any contacts who could help me clean, he said he would make some phone calls.

When I arrived at the house the guests were, as you would imagine, not very happy.
Not much else I could do but get started on the cleaning.

Seth called me back with a girl named Janice, who was available but needed a ride to the house.
I couldn't leave and didn't have anyone else who could pick her up so I traded Seth a ski pass for giving her a ride.

Before Seth and Janice arrived I got a phone call from Staci. These were her words exactly, "I'm standing at the door." (LOVE HER!)
I was so relieved and happy to see her! what an angel!
I asked, "I thought you were going to church?"
Staci, " I was, but my ox was in the mire."

haha such a good friend..

Janice arrived shortly after and we worked until we were finished at 3pm
I could not have done it without their help!

The guest apologized for being grumpy that morning and asked if I had a Costco membership, wondering if I was going to Salt Lake and would get them ski tickets from there since they are discounted. I don't have a membership but my roommate does, so to smooth things over a little more I arranged for my roommate and I to make a trip to Costco.

On the way back with the tickets, I stopped to get them special coffee and a Deer Valley Turkey Chili mix, kind of as a peace offering.
He asked why I did that, and I just said I felt bad that their vacation got off to a rough start and hoped the rest wouldn't be ruined/tainted by this - and if there was anything else they needed they could call.

The guest said, "Well, you didn't have to that. This is between the owner and I" but I told him it was a miscommunication between the owner and I and I still felt bad. He was nice and gave me some extra money for my trouble, and the next day I showed some of the guests around the mountain.

so... hopefully all is well with them now. (and hopefully they don't ask for their money back.)

The highlights of today:

First: I bought a new pair of snowboarding pants after years and years of wearing the same old pants that have never fit.

Second: I came home tonight and just ate Reese's Puffs and two boxes of Hot Tamales, and watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

All in all... a pretty good evening.

My new roommate/friend, Rob.

Rob thought it would be fun to rent a 'Buddy the Elf' costume and wear it out for a night.

After he put on the elf costume he was having second thoughts,

So I went with him for support. It was hilarious.

I had only been skiing one other time in my life before this - I couldn't convince the guys to ski at Canyons so I could snowboard. They insisted on Deer Valley, so decided to try it out and rented some skis.

Turns out, i'm an awesome skier!

Today was a day where all the things I have been worrying about - all the things weighing on my mind - all the insanity that is sometimes my life, didn't matter. All my worries may come back tomorrow but,

Today was just a day...

Nothing is ever black and white.
It's not as simple as right and wrong.

I used to think that I had everything figured out.

It's easy to give someone advice.
It's easy being on the outside. That's why people seek advice - to gain some perspective.
It's hard to sift through all your emotions and thoughts to find right answer for YOU. There are so many thoughts - which is the right thought?

On the 'outside' - I see people's situations and think... "that's so simple" "the answer is easy"

It's not simple... or easy, for the person 'inside'.

It seems every time I look at a situation and say "that's easy",
all of a sudden i'll find myself in a similar situation - almost mocking me, saying "you thought this was simple? not so easy now, is it?"

I've always felt confidant in my ability to see things from many perspectives - this, I feel thankful for. I am a very accepting person. No matter what someone has done - who am I to judge? Our situations are completely different. Our whole lives and ideals are different. People make decisions based on what they know and believe. Everyone's beliefs and backgrounds are so different. People have reasons for what they did/do based on their lives experiences so far. I don't know what those are, so I can't say they are right or wrong - they acted/made the decision they made because, at the time - that was what was right for them.
So, again I am thankful that I can find good things in everyone. It's too exhausting to hold grudges. It's too exhausting to be unhappy.
It takes work to be unhappy!

But, when i'm on the 'inside', it's like a battle in my brain - I go into it, knowing the 'logical choice' But I usually put the seeming 'logical choice' aside and think of the pros and cons of every single possible decision/outcome, it's exhausting.

Do I really know what's right for me?
I have to trust that I do and know the decisions that I make will eventually take me where I need to be.
Maybe I'll make decisions that maybe... are not exactly awesome... But that's how we learn.

It seems that, that's how I learn Most of the time... Unfortunately.
But it's kind of Humorous. I look back at my experiences and laugh...
I ask myself, "What was I thinking..." (knowing full well what I was thinking)
Who doesn't?

As long as I can look back and laugh, I'll be okay.

I asked someone once what they believed in - That person said "I believe in, fun."

It feels so good to set aside all unproductive emotions and just live life.

So, I believe in fun.

Once a week I clean an office, on that night last week I was doing work around the house and I spaced it.

Later that night, after putting my pjs on I realized I had forgotten... So I got dressed and was super bummed... I just wanted to rest and get some sleep.

Anyway - I went to the office, cleaned.. still bummed

But, when I was driving away I saw the moon emerging from behind the mountain
and I looked up at how clear the sky was and I really appreciated the scenery around me.

Maybe the reason for me forgetting work was so I could see this later.

I loved it.

Sad that I probably pass things like that up all the time just rushing around.

It's turning to Fall... all the leaves are changing colors - everyday there are more. Park City is really beautiful in the Fall. I keep thinking that I need to take a picture here or there... but never do.

10 and 11

Day 10: Missoula (i didn't know this was a real place...)

we gave ourselves a few buffer days to get back to Park City in case something went wrong

so far so good.. so we took our time this morning.

We went to breakfast at a place called 'The Shack'

Seth ordered Huckleberry pancakes - In peak Huckleberry season.

you would think that they would have huckleberries...

Great breakfast anyway.

we walked around the shops and the town

but since we were going to try and make it to Park City today... we got on our way.

knowing we weren't going to make it to Park City, we stopped for dinner,
and I bought a fleece blanket from King's Market for our campout.

It was getting later, and darker so we decided to find a place to camp.
we camped at a campground near mud lake in Idaho - close to Rexburg.

Seth wanted to make a fire, but he stepped on this branch to break it and that stub went right through his sandal into his foot.
I dressed his wound and tended to the fire.
so sad... but sooo funny. I was nervous it was going to be a serious injury on our LAST night. his wound bled a lot! took a long time to heal, but luckily he was fine. Sore... but fine.

all around a pretty nice spot.

Day 11:

This Morning was pretty cold,

but we had an awesome sunrise.

Next stop, Idaho Falls.

(shielding my face - no shower, greasy/helmet hair, eating McDonalds... scarey!)

We stopped for gas and a quick McDonalds Mcgriddle...

I haven't had one of these in forever... I used to live for these - they are so good!

The closer we got to Park City the more anxious I became..
At the last stop light, I pulled up next to Seth and Screamed with excitement!

So happy to be home!!

Days 8 + 9

So, Day 8: Today on day 8 we planned on going Sea Kayaking - So we woke early at the Orca Inn to pack up and check out!
-We met up with a group - A nice family on vacation. We joked and laughed and I pretended to be Pocahontas by singing "just around the river bend"

So fun! unfortunately no Orca sightings and it was fishing day so they were sending major waves our way.

We stopped at our favorite coffee shop on the way back

then headed to the ferry

Then, we drove to Seattle with Tons of traffic, checked in to our hotel and walked down to Seth's favorite place to eat - the Brooklyn.

Seth loves oysters.

We walked around Pikes Market and.. the area,

then took a cab back to the hotel.

Day 9: Oh my goodness... longest day ever. woke, made a stop at the BMW shop drove for miles and miles and miles.... had a horrible breakfast experience (Seth's food always looks better than mine) Seth and I left the breakfast a little upset with each other - so after a few hours of riding and not being able to talk - i sped ahead of him and stopped i was so tired.

drove until dark (i did not want to be driving in the dark)

drove more in the dark (i was actually welcoming the Semis that were coming up behind me for the light)

Finally made it to Missoula Montana after a few 500+ miles

Took a bath to rest my nerves! i was so tense driving in the dark.

days 5-7

Day Five: Seth and I took the scenic highway 2 through Washington. We stopped at a place called Leavenworth - A Bavarian/German tourist town. I hadn't realized that I hadn't eaten anything all day so, I felt pretty sick when we arrived there. We went to the nearest Bavarian Restaurant and ordered schnitzel, and I felt 100% better... We found a campsite FULL of mosquitos that loved our blood and I found that my sleeping pad had a hole in it...

and if you don't recall my sleepingbag flying off my bike on the highway well.. it did and I didn't have a sleeping bag. So, Seth and I sort of... attempted to share both his sleeping pad and sleeping bag.

Pretty sure that this stop - for a berry smoothie was the best part of the day.. or maybe it was the food in the Bavarian town... my favorite because food was involved.

Day Six: Woke at the campsite, packed up and drove to the first restaurant we could find.. I don't remember the name but I'm pretty sure it had 'squirrel' in it...
-Drove to the SanJuan Islands Ferry. Took the Ferry to Orcas Island.
- Checked in to the Orca Inn... (we read a review that said it was clean and had the essentials.. not much more. Spot on review. Hilarious. So small that the bathroom door hit the bed when you opened it.) We didn't spend much time at the Orca Inn, we just really needed a shower!
-We explored the small island town and ate the worst fish and chips ever.

-Slept in (it was SO nice to sleep in a bed and have a shower and.. have a blanket.)

-Walked around the quaint ocean town and went to breakfast. (ate the best biscuits and gravy! so good..)

Day four: The Wedding Day

Day four: Day of Charb and Annali's wedding. Took a stroll around Spakane, had a lovely lunch then got ready with Dan. (Dan is always a highlight.) The wedding - The dinner - The wine... I don't know how many bottles Jon got from the open bar but I saw at least 4. This was the night Jon 'Painted the bathroom red'

This is the only photo I have from lunch. I was craving Thai food. So good! Dan joined us for lunch and then came back to our hotel to get ready for wedding.

as you can see we were really taking the 'getting ready' process seriously.

I think we were the last to arrive at the wedding location..

We took time for a couple photo ops - going down the elevator - waiting for our car...

while pleasantly sleeping in our bed at the Davenport, Green came in speaking fairly loudly... saying we were lame for leaving early and we needed to party some more because this was CHARBYS wedding day!

I swear he stood at the foot of our bed for at least 20 minutes telling me we were lame and needed to come out and party (Seth of course sleeping through every bit of it.)

All of a sudden I heard him puking in the bathroom. sick.

I vaguely remember him crashing on his bed shortly after.

I didn't think much of it until...

I got up to use the bathroom and... brace yourselves..

there was a red... maroon looking substance ALL OVER the toilet and toilet area.

At first I thought..."it looks like a murder has taken place in here!" second thought.. "did he have some sort of... smoothie??" (it seriously looked like berry smoothie exploded all over.)

I really had to use the toilet, so I cleaned it up enough to at least use it, then remembered all the wine he had drank... that explained the color. So gross.

Then I went back to bed.

In the morning Seth was so confused as to what had happened in the bathroom..

We figured Green might need some coffee,

so we delivered it to his bed.

Soon after Charb and Annali were engaged and decided to be married in Spokane Seth thought it would be fun to ride the motor cycles up there.

Seth... being Seth, then got into trip planning mode. Seth LOVES planning and going on trips.

Seth decided he wanted to make a big trip out of this event and proposed a trip plan to me.

I was still not completely sold on riding my motorcycle such a long distance... so the whole trip was now in my hands... quite honestly I wasn't sure about it until a couple days before... ha lets face it... I wasn't so sure about my motorcycle skills until the second day of the trip.

So here are the highlights.

(after the second day seth and i were laughing about all the little things already going wrong and he said "if you could just give us one good highlight for each day, this is going to be a great trip.")

Day One: Drove from Park City to Boise, Idaho. Megan falls/rolls off her bike while at an almost complete standstill.

Day Two: Drove from Boise, Idaho to Spokane, Washington. Sleeping bag flies off the back of Megan's bike on the highway. Seth heads to the bachelor party campout (events here were supposed to be secret... so naturally photos were passed around secretly at the wedding)

We kept seeing sign after sign after sign for 'Roosters' restaurant. A few hours after we had seen the first sign for Roosters we finally arrived at the restaurant. Seth pulled into the parking lot and when we both had our helmets off he said "we've been passing these signs for over 300 miles... how could we NOT stop here?!" so, this had to be put on the highlight list.

Day three: The Boys came back from the bachelors night, to our hotel room where we attempted to order pizza. (after the bachelor party, ordering pizza was a huge feat...)

Next attempt - ordering the wedding presents and writing a clever note.

Checking in to the Davenport where Green, Seth and I were sharing a room. Green and I decided to do backflips off the bed and I hit my knee SOOOO hard on the bed frame...

Those of you who know me... know how much I LOVE snacks. My favorite place in Maui quickly became the Regency Club - which Seth's friend got us access to... they had food all day every day. breakfast, lunch, and dinner with snacks in between. Heaven.

People working in the Regency Club all knew Seth and were SO nice - (everyone loves this guy...) and the sweetest guy gave me a 'goody bag' full of chocolates and Hawaiian treats... My new best friend. He said they usually save the 'goods' for people who are having bad experiences to make them happy. But Seth is a special guy...

(it's embarrassing how many photos we took with me and this bag of goodies, it made my day!)

We almost got moved to another hotel to make room for... paying guests - but again, Seth's friend came through for us and put us in the Regency Suite... Unbelievable.

Basically we just relaxed and visited with some of Seth's old buddies.

I love all the hammocks everywhere and again... how perfect the weather always is...

This is Seth and Marky Mark. Mark was the one who helped us out with all the great deals and coupons at the hotel - Mark was a housekeeping manager spending his last week on Maui with us - getting ready for a move to a Hyatt in Key West.

(Mark was on the same flight out of Maui and we managed to get seats together on the plane.)

Seth told me he had a surprise for me and that we had to wake early the next morning,

so at 4:30 we were on our way

We got to the airport and one of Seth's friends was there getting his small plane ready to go.

On our way to Honolulu for the day!

When we landed, Seth's friend hooked us up with a vehicle

and we made a plan to meet back at the airport later in the afternoon.

We started out by going to a coffee shop to meet with a friend that used to work at the Waldorf in Park City, then we took a walk on the beach.

We walked through the old hotel that Seth worked at in Honolulu.

While walking down the street someone called out Seth's name - an old co-worker who just praised Seth... it was so cute.

We drove around, saw the sights and the beaches... (i guess the beaches are the sights) and had a huge lunch... I'm telling you... we ordered soooo much food at Maguro Ya - one of Seth's favorite places to eat. I can't believe we ordered so much food.

We met back up with Seth's friend, went to the airport and hopped on our little single engine private plane.

Awesome day in Honolulu.

Maui

The morning we left for Hawaii my dad drove us to the airport.

We were flying standby to Hawaii. Crazy I know.

Our plans changed after each flight we missed. We finally got a connection to Arizona but from there there were no more flights to Hawaii so we booked a hotel and spent the night in Phoenix, then got up early for another day of trying to get on a plane.

Seth was pacing the floor and looking on the internet to check our flights (so nervous he was going to ruin my birthday)

I was just stoked to not be at home - so I was reading and surfing the net.. just chillin' out.

When we finally got on a plane - we got to fly first class. First class while flying standby aint too bad... Seth always comes through with a good deal for us... I don't know how he does it.

By the end of the flight I was getting anxious and hyperactive which i'm sure is annoying for Seth.
And the photo below... I'm not sure what's going on here. Travel days are rough?

Since it was impossible to get a flight to Honolulu, we flew in to Maui and stayed there for six days.

Breakfasts and the beach... my favorite times.

We stayed at the Hyatt Maui where Seth used to work, so of course he again got us an amazing hook up.

They had a Luau EVERY night outside our balcony. We never went to it because we got the free show... EVERY night.

Also, Seth's friends at the front desk gave us a coupon for... just about everything. So these are our free breakfast coupons for Swan Court.

We drove around the island, ate fruit, went shopping... ate fruit, and the weather was perfect as always.

Utah 1088

So, I realize how horrible of a blogger I am...
but here's a post for Seth's 1088 motorcycle rally (which conveniently ended on my birthday)

Seth had told me quite a while before hand that the rally started on the 25th and ended the morning of the 26th. He gave me sufficient notice... so that was okay.
We also were planning on going to Hawaii for my birthday... so that made it even more okay.

So basically the rally is a bunch of motorcyclists doing 1100 miles on their bike all over Utah in 24 hours. They give you paperwork of the route to take and bonus locations usually 15 minutes before the rally begins - but this year they decided to give it the night before and said "try to get some sleep!"
knowing that everyone would be up all night planning routes and bonuses.

We arrived on the 24th so Seth could get check in and do his odometer check.

Since it was my birthday weekend I figured I could order room service... right? Except I was way too hungry to be looking at the room service menu and wanted everything... I settled on three dishes. I'm disgusting. But it was oh so good. Seth didn't realize until it came to the room - he thought it was so funny that he had to document it with a picture.

Seth did great and finished by 4am ish, we slept until the banquet, ate and then headed home to pack for Hawaii!

Some things I hardly even remember and am so surprised after reading certain entries.

"I asked my biology partner for some of his gum today... he said "no" but proceeded to take the gum out of is mouth and squish it into the palm of my hand.
I'm not sure why I wasn't grossed out at all but just to show I really didn't care at all,

oh! wait.

Yesterday I went to a concert with my good friend Staci. Staci and I go way back. Way back.
We were friends back in high school... I don't really know when we became friends. Staci was in the grade above mine, so i'm sure that it all started in band. I was always nagging her to practice.
We started sitting together at lunch and the rest is history.
Sometimes she would drive us to food town during lunch to get food, sometimes we would eat cereal...
sometimes we would hang out at Lindy's shop after school and sometimes she would invite me to do things with her 'group' of people.
We spent ALL day one day making a present for a friend and she put up with my obsessive compulsiveness throughout the whole thing.
She came to my concerts when she could... what a great supporter.
I've told Staci about all of my 'loves', i've told her about most of my problems.
She took me out to breakfast on one of my birthdays.
We've watched horror movies
We've made horrible movies... (never to be seen by any of you)
Staci went on a camping trip with my family to southern Utah, SO FUN!
Staci and I lost touch for a while, but then she came to work for me last season... so glad she did, i've missed her.

I didn't realize how much we've done together...
so, we went to the concert last night and had a good time.

I am exceedingly surprised at how rude and inconsiderate people are.
I am surprised at how much people only care about themselves.
I am surprised at how people treat... people.

At the same time... not surprised at all.

People in general are very uncaring about other people 'in general'
People don't care about people they don't know.

All things I already knew... but surprised at how much more I encounter uncaring people in my work.
I left the hospitality industry because of the 'general public' that came to stay feeling that they were more important than others and deserved special treatment.
The same reason I will be quitting the business I have.

So relieved to have made that decision.

Everyone is blogging about running, so I guess I may as well too.

I have been running most every day, I love summer just so because can get out and exercise... among other things. I honestly don't think I do anything in the winter besides snowboard.
I hate running in the gym... just can't do it. Every place I have lived I find good routes for my long runs and short runs.
I love my long running days. Park City is the perfect place to go running, the views are amazing and I feel so luck to be breathin' in that fresh mountain air. I get a ton of energy out when I run and it lowers my stress levels tremendously when I am running.

Lately I have been running at least 30 minutes a day or 3 miles and on my long days I will usually run about 6 miles. I just started doing two runs a day a couple times a week which is actually kind of lovely.

I am thinking about entering in a race with obstacles. I love obstacles... like the spartan race or something. I think that sounds super fun. (i might feel differently afterwards but for now i think it sounds awesome.) I love pushing my body to the limit.

I went to Hawaii for my birthday - I guess I could write a post about that.

I witnessed the most beautiful birth ever, of my baby niece Hazel on Friday.

Kaelee's Midwife was so great.

Watching Kaelee and Mike bring their baby into this world was a very emotional experience.

Kaelee and Mike are such a good partnership. I love them both so very much.

I don't know that I ever documented seth's birthday, so here it is;

Seth's birthday was on February 27th

(I'm aware that i am kind of behind)

We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jackson Hole

(jackson hole has kind of become our get away place)

Our room looked out onto the Jackson Hole Resort.

We went snowboarding all day the next day

We rode the tram to the top where the wind was just crazy... also where I bought some snacks

(i'm big on snacks)

So, the day on the mountain was awesome and we had a great time but Seth and I both decided that it's pointless to pay a bunch of money to ski at a resort when we already live at in a resort town and can ski for free.

The best part of snowboarding is knowing all the great places to board, and just one day on the mountain is not enough time to really experience the mountain.

But again, we had an awesome time.

Next day, since Seth had never been snowmobiling we rented a couple of machines and went on an 80 mile trip. So fun!

We drove our snowmobiles to our lunch destination at a secluded lodge you can only reach by snowmobile.. or some other snow machine.

After a full day, we returned our machines around 5pm

We had an interesting dining experience... but it was lovely nevertheless.

sometimes, I think blogging without photos is boring.

only because sometimes, when I'm reading a blog without photos I feel like a small child with a chapter book... "no pictures??" and suddenly I have lost all interest in everything in the entire room. (but again, that's only sometimes.)

I don't feel like loading pictures onto my computer most of the time so this is my excuse for the lack of blogging.

I'm a private person.
those who think i'm not so private... well, they probably don't know me all too well.
also reasoning for my lack of blogging.
but then... maybe i'm not a private person and just prefer not to talk about my life unless asked. (then i know someone is actually interested. no sense in telling, if there's no one listening)
I keep a journal. I have always kept a journal of some sort.
I used to have a really short memory. short memory as in, my thoughts were always occupied with other things so my days were blurred, my hearing was also blurred. when i was thinking thoughts, the sounds of people talking were... blurry? thus my bad memory and hearing issues.
sorry to my family for never hearing the words you were saying.

keeping a journal helped/helps me to gather my thoughts and keep things straight.

if someone asks, I will tell just about anything.
I figure, if you really want to know, there's no sense in keeping it from you.
honesty is really the best... path. I learned that the interesting way.

life is so much easier when everything is just laid out there.
also, a lot more comical.
I laugh more than anything about most of my truths.

i had the craziest dream last night

completely ridiculous

there was a hot air balloon fest going on and seth and i were going to be riding in one
clear day - awesome colors
for some reason, in this dream seth was feeling uneasy about getting in the balloon
hot air balloons were going up all around us
Seth wouldn't get in
Then a storm came through out of nowhere and our inexperienced hot air balloon driver said it would be fine. i thought... 'no... this will not be fine.
we saw a patch of light through the now dark grey sky and thought "oh this storm is going to pass quickly"
when it all of a sudden closed as if it were eating people up! and the whole sky was dark!
then people were falling from the sky everywhere all around us

we were running away from the storm and the balloons because balloons and bodies were crashing to the ground! there were bodies everywhere...

As I was strolling through facebook, I randomly clicked on a person i'm not 'friends' with and as I was randomly looking through some random pictures I found these beauties:

2010 4th of July Parade in Oakley, Utah

Every couple years, this family asks me to play the bass in their 'hick' band for the 4th and 24th parades.

We played, 'Something Like That' by Tim McGraw

and 'She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy' by Kenny Chesney

Nice of this random person to take these photos. It's always weird going back to Kamas or Oakley and seeing people i know. Going back to Kamas for holidays though... it's impossible not to see EVERYONE. Small towns... are great.
But, Seth came to see me play in the parade and we had a good laugh over it.

I also saw my old band teacher and he asked me to help teach the 6th graders to play clarinet.
In the following months i taught a few times a week - which was a super fun time.

Mike is an awesome guy, and we are so lucky to have him in our family.

Mike is nice to everyone, he loves to share his knowledge with people.

So many other things make Mike awesome, he is super handy and can do anything he sets his mind to.

Mike is so excited for little baby to be born and it's really cute.

-I have back troubles - yesterday was the worst of them and Seth went with me to the doctor.
-while at the doctor seth went to the grocery store next door and bought me 'snacks' (i LOVE snacks) so that was really sweet.

- I hate doctors who don't help - i asked the doctor yesterday if this would bother me my whole life, and she said, "i don't know, i don't have a crystal ball."

-Kaelee and i were shopping a couple days ago and realized... we have no idea how to shop, especially for clothes. we decided we would call our cousin Brooke next time we plan on shopping to see if she would lend us her time and expertise.

-I am excited for kaelee's babe. i wish it would just come out already.
it's one thing for my brothers to have children, but it's entirely different when it's your sister. i know i can actually be a part of their life, instead of worrying about annoying my sister-in-law
i don't have to worry about annoying my sister. i annoy her all the time anyway and it doesn't matter.
which reminds me of seth's mother telling us carissa (seth's sister) has "a baby in the cooker" in her texas accent. hilarious.

-I took a 9 year old boy snowboarding today, it's fun teaching kids to ski/snowboard. He had such great manners. He was awesomely polite and he said "i have m&m's for us. peanut ones."
when we were on the lift he opened them and before taking one he offered them to me and i was getting getting situated (taking off my gloves, getting him a hand warmer...) then 5 minutes later he still hadn't eaten any and i asked "didn't you want any?" and he said "i'm waiting for you to have one first"

so, the other morning i was thinking about the end of the world - and while i was doing the dishes i thought, "what's the point? If the volcano blows up now - this really makes no difference, what i am doing is pointless." but i continued to do it because i was thinking "Jon will appreciate this"

i feel like one of those people in the movies you hate -- they have all these warning signs and yet they still don't do anything to prepare or evacuate. i am one of these people as we speak - i am talking about it but still don't try to dig an underground safe place or even get a food storage.

as i was walking to my car i was thinking how pointless my job is and i looked up and saw this :

and i thought "how luck am i to live in this awesome place!" the view is awesome and we have 'The Greatest Snow On Earth' and i get to snowboard whenever i want. so, i am so glad that i live here. If i die, i die and that's the way it's meant to be. i guess i could do some preparing too...
so all my thought's were turned around - look at this beautiful place.
then on the drive to my work i saw this hot air balloon.

Life Is Good.

Which reminded me of the time my brother Josh surprised me, and took me on a hot air balloon for my birthday. Josh is the best brother/person on the entire earth and i am so lucky he is my brother.

jelly fish

sometimes i think about the end of the world...
sometimes it freaks me out. or, i freak myself out.
i think sometimes that the world is in self destruction phase - because we have failed to keep it alive.
i have been thinking of all the natural disasters that have happened and are going to happen --
like the earthquake,
and the volcano that is yellowstone.
except, when i think about the volcano i don't think the world will end at that point.
maybe that will be mother-nature's way of evening things out.
when the volcano blows the world will be in it's next ice age, or so they say. i would think that global warming wouldn't be such an issue at that point.
only... i probably won't be around to see it because i will have suffocated in the ash/debris from 'ol Caldera.
see? i freak myself out - my good friend Staci was very reassuring and told me not to worry. we all die at some point.

but seriously -- jelly fish freak me out.
they don't have a brain yet they are somewhat smart!!! that baffles me.
they are a plant then, right?
no. they are aliens.
that is what i have decided
they have been on this planet since before dinosaurs.
and will most likely be here long after us.
i used to think they were so beautiful but really?
really?
look at this thing..
kind of freakish. especially when they have tentacles spanning over 100 feet.
don't get caught in that one...

These box jelly fish though, they are the freakiest of them all. these are more developed than other jelly fish, (which is why they freak me out) they have eye balls on each end of the box where the tentacles come out.

(im sure you're wondering why i seem so informed concerning the jellyfish... i watched a documentary.)

anyway, their eye balls can move in every direction.
this is possibly the worlds most venomous creature.
they seem to get smarter as time goes on. (they would have to be... i mean - they have been around since before dinosaurs.
which actually makes it seem like they are progressing slowly. but are they?)

they are taking over the ocean... slowly but surely -- they grow like plants - they are called, blooms - if the water temperatures are warm all the blooms will become jelly fish! which is why there are so many clusters of a billion jellys.

waters are warmer = jellys take over the ocean = self destruction phase. see what i mean? (haha my theories...)
my comfort is - they have a little trouble on land.
so we don't have to worry about them taking over the world. yet.
but we may have to start eating them.. poor fisherman. all they catch are the jellys and maybe... MAYBE some fish.

i won't even get started on the crocodiles...
so, now that you all probably think i'm crazy, i'm going to work.

I spent the past few days skiing with Seth's brother and visitors.

We had so much fun! Especially teaching this one how to ski.

We had a few nights out on the town - We ate at Spruce one night, and High West Distillery the next.
I'm so glad Seth got to ski with his brother for a few days. i have no pictures of her but, Claudia's sister came to visit as well from Germany, It was so nice to have them here.

Christmas was awesome.
Christmas Eve night Seth and I unfortunately missed a concert with my mom and joel on main street.
while i was rushing and stressing over it, Seth just said - we need to get rid of all this christmas stress. lets just calm down and have a relaxing evening...
so right then we decided we weren't going to rush to the concert that was already half over and we were going to go to dinner and meet my mom and joel when the concert was over.

A Relaxing dinner with Seth at Cisero's basically involved anything and everything i wanted to eat (so i wasn't stressed over what to order)

I think we ordered three appetizers, bread, extra bread, and our main dishes.

They had the most amazing grilled artichoke i have ever tasted!

A big thanks to Lisa, our friend who works there, for giving us an awesome deal.

I guess Lisa was expecting us and told the hostess to sit us at the "favorite" table.

the night got progressively better and when the concert was ending we were just finishing our dinner -

we met up with joel and my mother who had gotten me a beautiful scarf from the 'expanding heart' - had some christmas hugs and such and went home.

Christmas morning, I was super excited for Seth to open his gifts --

Seth had hid mine all over the house and outside...

there were some things in the laundry area, on the sofa, in the loft and the shed, out by the garbage cans...

Seth was super thoughtful and my favorite present by far was the Piano/Keyboard he got me with weighted keys -- so it feels just like a regular piano. how awesome is he!?

i have always wanted a piano but could never attain one.

so this is awesome. exactly what i wanted. perfect for me - who moves around all the time. it's super mobile which is great.

I got Seth an Ipad and some other things -- he has been talking about the Ipad since... forever.

we had some cinnamon bread with frosting from Kneaders for breakfast. mmmm so good!

and hung around the house - playing piano - seth playing with his Ipad, downloading every app ever...

later in the evening we had planned to cook dinner for everyone - we had a prime rib roast, potatoes, and some greens. we had guacamole and chips that were so delicious! through many struggles i made the best guacamole ever.

We invited the Roommates, Mary, and Joel for our Christmas gathering and had an awesome night.

So glad they could come.

My father was also very thoughtful this year and got me an IKEA gift card. So great, because i had only a mattress laying on my floor and random plastic wear for a dresser and storage.

My mother and i went to IKEA and we were able to have some bonding time...

every trip to salt lake is usually a long one though... my mom always gets lost and takes wrong turns... i forget that i should drive..

so, after missing the first exit out of parley's canyon we were headed toward sugarhouse and after the next missed exit we were heading towards downtown salt lake so we got off at 600 south and the turned the wrong way i tried giving her directions but she insisted on calling joel. joel knows his way...

so we were finally on the right track heading towards IKEA and i was paying extra close attention this time to all exits and lanes she was in.

i kept having to tell her "get your hand off the blinker"

mom - "im not turning!"

me - "i know but it looks like you're thinking about it! we don't need to turn anywhere yet."

after staying up until 3am putting together my bed..i now have a bed frame and a stool!

I won't show you the whole bed.. but there's the stool - and there's the corner of my bed.

it's amazing how much more roomier my room is.

i hated it before. but now it's not so bad.

This was the second day Canyons had been open! Super stoked to be snowboarding and super stoked Mike gave me his buddy pass! (with the expectation that i will be cleaning their house "a bunch of times"... well... we'll see)

View on the Cab -- look! there's the Waldorf... so glad i don't work there anymore... though it feels like it, because i hear about it everyday from more than two people.

it gives me anxiety - everything is so dysfunctional there.

The new bubble lift. This lift is super convenient... when it's working and the power is not going out every 5 minutes...

Once Sun Peak opened this lift was bomb!

water supply - it will be interesting when someone falls in.

the past two days at Canyons has been EPIC! best snowboarding/powder days to date.

the snow has been awesome this year!

at least 6 days have been spent up here since they opened, which is pretty good for me.

Ha - so mare dawg decided she was going to have a party for Brant at her 5th wheel... with or without Brant.
she called and said "everyone's coming so i hope you'll be there" ... typical mare...
then she called me a little later and said "i can't get a hold of anyone could you tell them if you see them?"
haha then says "please come, i think you're the only one that might be there" haha
seeing that kaelee and Mike are still gone and jake and becky weren't coming...
that just leaves josh and kristy.. oh... and brant. haha

i was just finishing moving and still had a ton to do (oh, by the way i moved. to park city.)
but i dropped everything grabbed my sleeping bag and headed to the Uintas..
Mary said the camp was just past the 18th mile marker, the age you are when you can be emancipated.
(so i wouldn't forget)
man... i didn't think it would be so far up there... it was a freakin 20 minute drive just from the bottom of the canyon.. oh well.

we sat around the campfire and then, picture this.. brant on the 5th wheel sofa and me on a cot with our heads next to each other. we joked that it was like a slumber party! and we watched a movie on his laptop.

i kept moving around all night 'because i was thirsty!!!' and i woke up and tried to find something to drink and since my cot was right in front of the fridge i opened the fridge with hopes there was a light in there... but there wasn't i was so desperate for water... but it was too dark so i went back to sleep.

in the morning, Mare was trying to cook breakfast over my cot since it was in the middle of the kitchen and started crackin up.. so i woke up and she had things going and the butter sitting on the heater cause it was frozen.. we had heart shaped waffles like the old days and bacon... and things.

then i went home. then end.

my father and i drove up big cottonwood canyon yesterday to guardsman's pass and hiked around for bit. i had never been up there before -- it's awesome that you can see park city, heber, kamas, coalville.. it's amazing whats just over the mountain..

this is park city -- if you look close you can see the PC on the hill on the right.

and there is a ski lift for PCMR... i didn't know that. it wasn't running obviously but of course i said -- 'if i climb up there will you take a picture of me?'

so...

if you look you can see two lakes -- the bottom one with a bunch of moss on it is silver lake i guess and the one above is twin lakes. so... that's one way to hike up to see the lakes.

so we went up into the uinta mountains and camped out with old mare-dawg (mary)

the first day we went for a bike ride with mare and joel

when we got back we put our tin dinners on the fire.. i kept insisting that mine be traditional (traditional as in-- the kind she used to fix when we were kids and camping out.) mmm so good. then i cooked corn bread for the morning and seth made apple... cobbler camp style and we stayed up telling stories 'round the campfire and burning things.. unfortunately no pictures of this but the second morning seth and i went for a bike ride.--

super fun -- we were out for maybe 3 hours way back in the wilderness -- tons of fallen trees on the trail so we kept having to carry our bikes over but overall a fun ride.

seth was picturing a "bacon cheese burger with cheese dripping down the sides.. and extra bacon" all the way back down to camp. so we packed up and went to dicks. where else can you get a greasy burger and excellent shakes?.. exactly.

some new guy owns the place now i guess and re-named it.. but left the 'Dicks' sign up. so that's good.

oh, and yesterday i took my car in to burt bros because it was vibrating funny.. and the tire was bent. this is the second tire i have replaced in less than a year and it is super expensive and super sucky.

it's just one thing after another - i'm stuck in a Gold's Gym contract which also sucks.

i hate gold's gym.

the harder you work for your money the more you appreciate the value of a dollar. lately i have been working really hard and it sucks to think that the money i have to spend on my car is two and a half days of work and the money i have to spend on stupid gold's gym is a half days of work. sometimes hard work doesn't really pay off in the short term... i'm hoping it will in the long term.

Passed my written motorcycle test (missed one question..) - next week will be the riding test and i will have my license.

haha while i was waiting to take my test (2 hour wait!) i caught up with an old boss and was laughing to myself about a 15 year old girl who was taking her written drivers test.. hilarious! she was with her father and sister, they had just gone to get ice cream. She took the test and when she was finished, walked back to the desk almost in tears because she had failed. then, argued with her dad about it. he was saying, 'how could you fail!? you studied! i know you did, how could you fail?!' and she kept saying 'i don't know' 'i don't know' 'nothing i studied was on that test!'

the lady at the desk went through the questions with her and her dad was annoyed with some of the questions saying 'why does she need to know that?!'

they let her take it over -- never got to see if she passed.. but i'm kind of glad.

i remember taking my drivers test.. it was with actual paper and pencil, now it's all on computers but a police officer took my answer sheet back to grade and when he came back he told me i had failed.

then said, 'Just kidding'

they must think it's so funny... little teenagers stressing out because if they don't pass it's the end of the world! haha.

so - we had been planning a trip to go out to oregon and washington but last minute changes... and we decided to go to New York, Boston, Maine etc..
we had a great time. we flew to New York and stayed there for two nights
we walked around, explored and saw the Blue Man Group
we took a train to Boston and from there rented a car and drove up to maine we stayed there for two nights and then drove to Peabody... we spent two night there and went to a wedding (part of the reason for our trip east) and then we drove back to boston, dropped our car - took a train to newark got there super late so we went straight to our hotel and woke super early for our flight back to Utah. We had Kings of Leon tickets on the 19th - the day we got back. Super Fun!

kind of a funny story..

as i was driving home from my brother's house, i noticed a truck following me very closely - i was bugged 'cause i hate when people tailgate me and i am also sort of an angry driver. ha.
anyway, i sped up so he would get off my tail and he sped up too, so i turned the corner following the route to my house and he turned the same corner -- i kept speeding up on all of the straight parts and he was still following me way closely, the car turned every corner i did and when i got to my turn off the truck followed, so i raced up the drive, took an alternate route that led me straight to a parking spot by the condo and turned off the car as fast as i could so it just looked like a parked car -- i waited to see if the truck followed but i didn't see any lights or anything so i figured it just a coincidence that he lived in the same complex --

a girl can never be too careful you know..

after that i was a little paranoid -- and after something like that i am always wary of other things… that might be out of place. just on my toes i guess. i always notice everything.

so i went to my door and unlocked the bottom lock (i always lock the deadbolt before i leave everyday. both locks are always locked.) before i unlocked the deadbolt i pushed the handle and the door opened -- i was a little freaked out because i knew i had locked it -- i thought about it in my mind and before i had left the house i had to go back twice for things i had forgotten so… 'maybe i forgot the second time i left…'
so i walked in the house and checked every room, behind every door etc..
nothing seemed out of the ordinary so i locked both locks on the door and went about my night.. still wary of anything that might be out of place.

i thought about calling someone but didn't - i was just being paranoid.
i kept my phone close anyway.
i turned on a movie and fell asleep.

today was an ordinary day.. i made sure to lock the deadbolt before i left the house.
i went to Jill's wedding shower and hung out with Kaelee for a while, then i went to park city.
not really wanting to go home quite yet i went to starbucks to kill some time (there is nothing to do at home. really. there is nothing. i don't have internet and i don't have furniture. basically all i have is some dishes, a bed, and my clothes. so when i say there isn't anything to do i really mean it.) i didn't want to be a loser and go home to just wait until it was time to sleep so i decided to be a loser at starbucks. i got out my computer and they didn't have WIFI so i just typed my thoughts on my computers notepad.
i called a friend from work to see if he wanted to see a movie, he wanted to see something bloody, so we went to 'nightmare on elm st'
i saw a few people i knew from south summit… seems like ages ago.

when i got home tonight i went to the door -- i unlocked the bottom lock, and remembering i had absolutely locked the deadbolt i tried the door before unlocking it.
it was open.

i called josh's house right away -- to see if they had been there, and also went outside, shut the door, and tried to see if something was wrong with the lock.
as Kristy answered i found that unless you shut the door just right the deadbolt doesn't lock. ha. so i told kristy the story and we had a good laugh but she said she would have been freaked out too! especially if she had just seen freddy crouger.

i watched Gone With The Wind today...
it's a depressing movie.

i tried to tell people how excited i was about marching band...
but... no one seems to think of it in the same way that i do.

i started reading War And Peace last week.
it's not bad... sometimes the story kind of drags on...
more and more people come into the story... it's hard to keep track of them all.
but... it has it's high points.

i saw Wicked in London... it was amazing! i loved it.

it's funny... i made a really good friend on the Europe tour, her name is Hilary. we became freinds very fast and had a ton of fun together.
everyone thought we knew eachother before because we "seemed so close"
im glad i met her.
